With over 30 years of expertise in music, Mr. Manatunga is a distinguished instructor at Amarillo, specializing in teaching a wide range of reed and brass instruments, including the recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. His exceptional qualifications include diplomas in Band Master (Two years) and Advanced Music (One year) from the Army School of Music Pakistan.

Mr. Manatunga’s rich musical career spans 22 years of service in the Sri Lanka Army Band, where he honed his skills and leadership. He further served as a Band Master for the National Youth Corps for 5 years, showcasing his dedication to nurturing young musicians.

His experience as a Band Instructor at renowned educational institutions such as Visakha Vidyalaya, St. Joseph’s College, Royal College, Sumangala Girls School, Good Shepherd Convent, Mahanama Vidyalaya, Dharmapala Vidyalaya, and Stafford International School has earned him widespread respect. At Amarillo, he leverages this vast background to prepare students for Trinity College London Western Music Examinations and a variety of other local and global music certifications.
Mr. Manatunga’s talents also extend to arranging western sheet music for military, dance, and school bands, making him a versatile and valuable mentor to students pursuing excellence in music.
